L10 – Wait! ... Wait?

Part 02 – He Has Come!

Luke 24:49

[49] "And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."

With all His verbal teaching and preparation Jesus has made it clear to us that when He leaves, God the Holy Spirit, will be taking His place here on earth and becoming the Agent of God. God the Father and the Lord Jesus will be with us and dwell in us through the Person and Agency of the Holy Spirit. We in turn, as His children, will be His agents through His presence in us via the Holy Spirit. We all have been chosen as vessels, the dwelling of God, and channels of God's Spirit to allow Him perform the works of God through us ( Joh_14:12 ; Eph_2:10 ; 1Co_15:10 ; 2Co_5:18-21 ; Col_1:29 ) and form the nature of Christ in us. ( Rom_6:6 ; Rom_8:29-30 ; 2Co_5:14-17 ; Gal_2:20 ; Gal_4:19-20 ; Eph_3:16-21 ; Col_3:3 ; 1Jo_4:12-13 )

God said that He would pour out His Spirit on His People. ( Joe_2:28-32 ) As we begin to study and read the eye witness account of this taking place, we see God fulfill His promise. ( Act_2:16 ) As He does this, it happens differently than we might have expected. ( Act_2:4 ; See also Isa_28:11-12 ; 1Co_14:21-22 )

Jesus clearly told the disciples to wait for the Promise of the Father and stay in Jerusalem until they had received Him, (the Promise of the Father). Which, after waiting they did receive just as Jesus said. (See Act_2:1-47 )
